A minute with Genevra Leek
We spent a minute with the Editor of Elle, Genevra Leek.
What is your super power?
“My superpower. That’s a tricky one. I think my superpower would have to be my ability to juggle things on the go”.
The motto that you live by, or the best piece of advice you’ve received?
“It’s from one of my favourite women right now, Phoebe Woodbridge (Fleabag). I might just read it because I was looking at some of her quotes this morning, and was particularly inspired. ‘Don’t let other people get in the way of what you really want'”.
What’s something you wish you knew how to do?
“I would love to be able to speak several different languages fluently. It’s something that I still would like to think I will make the time for in the near future”.
And what’s your guilty pleasure?
“Bingeing episodes of The Politician on Netflix”
Finally, if you could spend an hour talking to someone living or dead, who would it be and why?
“I would love to spend an hour with the founder of Elle. So, I need to do a little bit of a history on it, but essentially Elle sort of was born out of a post war time when women were really starting to take their power up. I think she was so visionary in the way that she set up the magazine and the philosophies that she had behind why she was doing that. It was so different to anything else that was available at the time. Sitting down over a glass of wine with her would be a real treat”.
