The book: Tea & Honesty

The author: Jules Sebastian

Jules Sebastian is a busy lady, mum of two, she is a TV presenter, stylist, public speaker, author, podcaster and philanthropist. Jules has built a loyal following via her You Tube programme Tea with Jules, her warmth and honesty.

Passionate about female empowerment and mental health, Jules is also the co-founder, with her hubby Guy, of The Sebastian Foundation, a charity which focuses on community needs and the next generation of youth in Australia.

I was fortunate enough to welcome Jules as a guest on my podcast Secrets of Successful business. Where we discuss her book, her business and what is means to be authentic, especially when your brand is you! What you she is what you get with Jules, so if you’re in the mood for a big warm hug via a podcast, jump over and listen to Jules on episode 2 of the podcast now.

The blurb:

On her much-loved Tea With Jules programme on Youtube, presenter, stylist and philanthropist Jules Sebastian captures beautiful conversations, many of them with Australian icons, women and men from all walks of life about their pivotal experiences. These stories range the full spectrum – covering motherhood, relationships, career, lifestyle, health and more – and are at times both raw, moving and poignant. These conversations have shaped Jules’ own life, helping her navigate her role as a career woman, mother, daughter and wife of one of Australia’s most popular musicians, Guy Sebastian. Like a good catch-up with your girlfriends, Tea & Honesty relays many of these conversations as well as sharing some of the most personal and vulnerable moments of Jules’ own journey that she has kept close to her heart – until now. Inspired by these conversations, her book covers the knotty emotions of guilt, comparison and identity to passion, purpose, community, kindness and more.

Offering snippets of heartfelt life advice from well-known contributors such as Kate Ritchie, Emma Isaacs, Camilla Franks, Rachael Finch and Neale Whitaker, with beautiful quotes and break out inspiration, this is the perfect treat to curl up on the sofa with, cup of tea in hand, or to give your favourite friend or family member to let them know that they are not alone.

The review:

Jules covers a lot of territory in her new book and I loved every single page. It’s a refreshingly honest take about life, why you don’t need to have it figured out at the beginning and why ‘finding your curiosity’ is a wonderful way to let your life unfold.

Through her many different careers, leaning into her passion for fashion and starting her own brand, to being authentically you in all things, Jules shares snippets of wisdom throughout; some her own and others learned from the many guests who’ve had tea with Jules on her popular YouTube show.

At times heartbreaking, at others joyful, Tea & Honesty is two hundred and eighty pages of goodness. a must buy!
