Top Female Business Coaches for 2022 – and I’m included!

by | 14 Feb 2022

I’d like to think I’m pretty low-key; not one to put too much stock in awards or recognition, but when this landed in my inbox, I was chuffed. Sai Blackbyrn and the team at Coach Foundation have included me in their Top Female Business Coaches for 2022. It’s a thrill to be included with so many leaders in the coaching space. Here’s a link to the story.

I’ve always been a teacher, from my obsession with playing “schools” as a kid to taking on the role of trainer and mentor in the workplace. Seeing others succeed filled my cup, and taking the plunge into the coaching space made perfect senses after many years of running my own retail business.

When the pandemic hit, I started my company Flossi Creative. I expanded my offerings to include business coaching, in addition to bookkeeping and content creation. After twenty-plus years in business, I figured it was about time I formally added coaching to the roster, and I haven’t looked back.

Over the last eighteen months, I’ve been privileged to help countless women grow their businesses. The coaching space has flourished in that time as business owners see the value in adding a mentor or coach to their team. And, as more women enter the entrepreneurial space, it’s bound to grow even more.

So, with countless coaches to choose from, how do you pick that one that will provide you and your business the best value? It comes down to doing your homework. Here are some tips for choosing a coach that’s right for you.

  1. Decide what you want from a mentor or coach; what’s your end-game?
  2. Choose a coach for this season of your business. Traditional coaches tend to ask a lot of rhetorical questions; they help you solve your problem by asking questions that lead you to uncover the answer for yourself. More hands-on coaches will roll up their sleeves and work through your pain-point(s) with you. They create practical solutions and strategies and can become an accountability partner. Some sit in between. Choosing a coach that resonates with you and your business needs is essential.
  3. Pick a coach with real business experience. If they’ve never been in business, chances are they can’t help beyond the surface issues.
  4. Think about your biggest or most immediate pain point and reach out to a coach who can help solve the problem, someone with specific expertise.
  5. A good coach will provide a free discovery call. Use the time in discovery to see if you gel with the prospective coach. Sure it’s about how they can help, but you also need to like them! Ask lots of questions.
  6. Ask your coach what their point of difference is. How can they help you move the needle in your business? How have they helped others?

Bottom line, it’s about finding a coach that works for you and your business right now. One who can help you grow into the future. The list from the Coaching Foundation might be the perfect place to start!

Oh, and if you’re wondering, my point of difference is the finance element. I’m on a mission to help women in business understand the cost of doing business and create solid financial foundations. One of the secrets of a successful business is building strong foundations from the start. Most business owners focus on marketing, tech, people, mindset and, of course, their product or service offering. Often, right at the bottom of that list is finance. It’s there because it isn’t sexy, it’s often hard to understand, and as long as there’s money in the bank account, it’s easy to ignore. I want to change that.

My signature service is The Pricing Formula.  So if you struggle to price your products and services, never know what margin to add, wonder when and how often to increase your prices, or if you can’t afford to take a salary, then you need reach out. I’d love to chat.

I cover all the bases from mindset to the practical. There are loads of easy-to-use plug-and-play templates included. Plus, you don’t need to be a numbers expert because, with a few simple steps, I’ll show you exactly how to set the perfect prices for your business.
